Technical Questions About Skystream?

Q: How do I find my serial number? A: The Skystream serial number can be found in three places: Skystream 3.7 label on main body of turbine.

  1. On the product manual, there is a sticker with your turbine's unique serial number
  2. On a label that can be found on the turbine on the front of the system near the base or on the main body of the system
  3. Inside the metal casting of the turbine

Q: My Skystream is not spinning or spinning slowly in adequate winds.

A: The turbine will not spin or will spin slowly in winds below 8 mph. If your wind resource is higher than 8 mph, there may be an issue with your turbine. Contact your Skystream authorized dealer for assistance with questions.

Q: My Skystream does not communicate with the Skyview radio. What can I do?

A: Ensure that all connections are made properly to your PC and to the Skyview system. Ensure that the Skyview radio is placed in a location where it is directionally in line with the Skystream wind turbine, such as a window.

Q: Is Skyview available for MAC applications?

A: At this time, Skyview is not designed for the MAC operations systems. You may run Skyview through a Windows replicator such as BootCamp, Parallels or Virtual Box.

Q: How do I install Skyview on Windows 7?

A:

  1. Click on the Start icon
  2. Right-click on Computer and select Properties
  3. Click on Device Manager under Control Panel Home
  4. Right-click on SWWP USB XBee and select Properties
  5. Click on Update or Reinstall Driver
  6. Click Browse my computer for driver software
  7. Click Browse, and select the FTDI driver folder on the Skyview install CD
  8. Click Next and wait for Windows to install the FTDI driver
  9. You will be asked “What do you want the wizard to do?” Select “Install from a list or specific location.” Click “Next.”
