The Whisper 200's 9-foot (2.7 m) blades create almost twice the swept area of the Whisper 100, and yield up to 200 kilowatt hours a month in a 12 mph (5.4 m/s) wind. A high-voltage model is available for transmission over longer distances.
In addition to its patented side-furling action, the Whisper 200 has other advanced features that make it the ideal choice for generating maximum energy at lower wind speeds:
- Four-bearing spindle for smoother operation and longer life (20 years)
- Upgraded yaw shaft for more efficient current delivery to batteries and operation in high wind environments
- Bronze bushing and large-diameter furling pin for smoother action
- Simple rewiring of alternator allows different voltages from the same turbine (12, 24, 36 or 48 VDC)
- Blade extenders that increase swept area, thus increasing energy capture
